Scott Scovell Hamilton (innate August 28, 1958) is an American figure skater and Olympic gold medalist known for his originality and piquant in-ice personalities.

Childhood

He was adopted at a age of hexad weeks by Ernest & Dorothy Hamilton of Bowling Green, Ohio. He has 2 sib, older sister Susan & immature brother Steven (as well adopted). He was currently passionate all about his skating & at age Baker's dozen began expert training by owning Pierre Brunet, a previous Olympic champion. Witharound 1976, notwithstanding, he was forced to quit skating & enroll in college due to fiscal difficulties. Career

Within 1980 Scott finished third in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, earning him the place on the Me Olympic team. He finished inside fifth place at a 1980 Winter Olympics, where he besides experienced a honor of carrying a Western flag in the opening ceremony. Within 1981 he won gold in the World Figure Skating Championships. He won gold over agawithin in 1982 & 1983 at a U.S. & Globe championships, & in the 1984 Winter Olympics took home a gold ribbon. He won a 1984 Globe Championships so off agency around April 1984.

Fallowing turning office Scott toured by using Ice Capades for two years, and so created "Scott Hamilton's American Tour", which afterwards was renamed Stars on Ice. He co-founded, co-produced & performed inside Stars within Ice for 15 years prior to retiring from either a tour in 2001 (though he however is restored for the occasional guest performance).

He has been awarded many skating honors, including existence a 1st solo male figure skater to exist as awarded a Jacques Farvat Award (in 1988). Around 1990 he was inducted into a United States Olympic Hall of Fame.

Hamilton was the skating commentator for CBS television for many years, beginning within 1985. He has too worked for NBC television.

Personal
